inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El descubrimiento &#8211; y c\u00f3mo probar las inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Uno de los principales investigadores, Ulrich Wiesner, profesor de ingenier\u00eda en la Universidad de Cornell en Ithaca, Nueva York, dice: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Si se trata de una nanopart\u00edcula para matar el c\u00e1ncer, ser\u00eda exactamente la manera en que se har\u00eda<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Las nanopart\u00edculas son part\u00edculas diminutas de una dimensi\u00f3n no mayor de 100 nan\u00f3metros. <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Tienen propiedades inusuales en comparaci\u00f3n con el mismo material a una escala m\u00e1s grande, y los cient\u00edficos e ingenieros est\u00e1n aplicando en muchos campos, incluyendo la electr\u00f3nica y la biomedicina.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Las nanopart\u00edculas del nuevo estudio &#8211; llamadas puntos de Cornell, o puntos C &#8211; son part\u00edculas de s\u00edlice fluorescentes ultra peque\u00f1as, con un di\u00e1metro de 5 nan\u00f3metros.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Fueron desarrolladas originalmente por el profesor Wiesner hace m\u00e1s de 10 a\u00f1os como una herramienta para la cirug\u00eda del c\u00e1ncer. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Se adhieren a las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas y las iluminan, a los cirujanos ver d\u00f3nde tienen que cortar.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Las part\u00edculas tambi\u00e9n fueron utilizadas a ser utilizadas para la administraci\u00f3n dirigida de style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El nuevo estudio muestra que los puntos de Cornell dirigidos al c\u00e1ncer pueden matar a las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas sin tener que llevar medicamentos. directora de imagen intraoperatoria en el\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><i><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center<\/span><\/span><\/i><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u00a0de Nueva York, Nueva York, se\u00f1ala:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u00abDe hecho, esta es la primera vez que hemos detectado que la part\u00edcula tiene propiedades terap\u00e9uticas intr\u00ednsecas\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u00abLa part\u00edcula es bien tolerada en un tejido saludable\u00bb, explica el Prof. Wiesner, \u00bb <\/span><\/span><i><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">estilo =\u00bb vertical-pero en cuanto se tiene un tumor, y bajo condiciones muy espec\u00edficas, estas part\u00edculas se requieren en asesinas<\/span><\/span><\/i><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u00ab.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los investigadores descubrieron las propiedades de los puntos de Cornell para combatir el c\u00e1ncer cuando estaban tratando de descubrir c\u00f3mo podr\u00edan sufrir ser toleradas grandes. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Se enfrentaron a varios experimentos durante varios a\u00f1os.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Entonces, para su sorpresa, descubrieron que cuando las altas dosis de puntos de Cornell recubiertos de p\u00e9ptidos fueron incubadas con c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer &#8211; y en particular cuando las c\u00e9lulas fueron privadas de nutrientes &#8211; las part\u00edculas tomaron hierro del medio ambiente y lo suministraron a las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">La entrega de hierro a las c\u00e9lulas desencadena un tipo de muerte celular llamada ferroptosis, que rompe la membrana celular, que es diferente a la muerte celular por fragmentaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s observada conocida como apoptosis.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><span style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u00abOla de destrucci\u00f3n\u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> El Prof. Wiesner dice que solo 24-48 horas despu\u00e9s de la exposici\u00f3n a los puntos de Cornell, observa c\u00f3mo se puede \u00abextender la ola de destrucci\u00f3n\u00bb por todo el cultivo de c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En otros experimentos se inyectan dosis altas de los puntos de Cornell recubiertos en ratones inyectados con tumores de melanoma y se detectan que se redujeron los tumores sin causar reacciones adversas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los autores concluyen sus hallazgos encontrados que la ferroptosis puede ser dirigida con nanopart\u00edculas de s\u00edlice ultra peque\u00f1as y puede tener un potencial terap\u00e9utico \u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c <\/span><\/span><i><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Hemos encontrado otra herramienta en la que la gente no hab\u00eda pensado en absoluto hasta ahora. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">, dijo el Prof. Ulrich Wiesner.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los investigadores ahora planean probar c\u00f3mo funcionan los puntos de Cornell con otras terapias est\u00e1ndar en
